Sandra Lou James

Sandra Lou James passed away Wednesday morning, Aug. 3, 2016 at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital following an unexpected illness.

She was 69.

Sandy was born May 3, 1947 to parents Dale & Martha (Baker) Swingler in Mansfield. After she graduated from Madison High School with the class of 1965, she took to the skies as a stewardess for Frontier Airlines. She later worked for Coldwell Banker as a local realtor. On April 30, 2007, she married John James.

In younger years, Sandy enjoyed horseback riding with friends and she loved her horses — keeping up to six at one time! She was an animal lover of all kinds, but was especially fond of a Bullmastiff named Doc. She also enjoyed the beauty of flowers and, for a time, liked to golf.

Sandy was always laughing and smiling. She devoted her recent years to taking care of her parents. Family and friends will miss her loving, responsible, and caring personality.

She is survived by her loving husband John James, of Lexington, son and daughter-in-law Joe and Tracy Jensen, of Santa Clara, Utah; grandchildren Nicholas Jensen (on a mission), Lucas Jensen, Erica Jensen, and Jacob Jensen; her mother Martha Swingler, of Lexington; brother and sister-in-law Michael Dale and Linda Swingler, of Austin, Texas; two step-daughters Kimberly Hay and Kerri Hamilton; four step-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; her best friend of 50 years Dot Turner, of Mansfield; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Friends may call 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 6, 2016 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service honoring her life will begin at noon. Pastor Dave Davenport will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.

Snyder Funeral Homes is honored to serve Sandy’s family and encourage you to share a fond memory or message of condolence to them — and watch her tribute video — at http://www.snyderfuneralhomes.com/obituary/sandra-lou-james/
