Dorothy E. Greenfelder, 89, of Mansfield, died Sunday, July 24, 2016 at home after a brief illness. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on March 11, 1927.
Dorothy was a loving wife and mother to her children. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church. She was a homemaker and volunteered her time in the cafeteria during the time her children attended school at St. Peter’s. Dorothy was also a volunteer at the Board of Elections for many years. She and her husband, Ralph, enjoyed many summer vacations at Gem Beach, Port Clinton when their children were young. In their later years, they enjoyed taking various cruises and spent their winters in Florida.
Surviving are three daughters, Kathy (Dick) Bajai. Diane (Jeff) Urban and Becky (Rick) Toomey; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Lois Spain; a sister-in-law, Nancy Greenfelder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kay and Lou Mantel; her husband, Ralph Greenfelder; a son, Dean Greenfelder; a granddaughter, Lynsey Hunter; a great granddaughter, Macy Schadek; and a great grandson, Luke Earick.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dorothy’s home health care aide for five years, Patty Cress for her overwhelming loyalty she gave Dorothy every day.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 1, 2016 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. A private graveside service will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park following the Mass for the immediate family.
There will be no calling hours.
