MANSFIELD — Think barns are meant only for horses and hay?

Neos Dance Theatre and Raemelton Therapeutic Equestrian Center (RTEC) think barns are also a perfect for ballet.

The two non-profit organizations are hosting their second Boots and Ballet, A Kentucky Derby Night at the Races in conjunction with the Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 7.

The fundraiser will begin at 4 p.m. in the historic riding arena of RTEC, 569 S. Trimble Rd., Mansfield, with live streaming of the Derby and pre-Derby races projected onto a large screen. Guests can bid on the races and silent auction items throughout the evening and Neos Dance Theatre will perform from 6:15 to 8 p.m.

Bluegrass band Good Luck Eloise will play at 5:15 p.m. A local high school barbershop quartet, The Twilights, will play during the early part of the event, and the Jimmy Warner Band will play for dancing from 8 to 11 p.m.

Premium tickets are $50, which includes access to all performances and activities, including stable tours at 5, 6 and 7 p.m. Premium ticket holders will also have full access to the VIP Lounge with fare catered by Doc’s Deli starting at 5:30 p.m. and two drink tickets from the cash bar from Phoenix Brewery beer, Cyprus Hill wine, and assorted American and imported beers and sodas.

General admission tickets are $25, which includes access to all performances and activities. Tickets for students and seniors are $15 with ID. (No student or senior pricing for VIP)

For non-Premium ticket holders, Charcoal Mafia BBQ will offer menu items for purchase starting at 5:30 p.m. The cash bar will be open throughout the event featuring the evenings specialty drink, the Mint Julep

Jay Allred, master of ceremonies for Boots and Ballet and publisher of Richland Source, encourages guests to wear hats and bow ties. The “Best Hat” and “Best Tie” winners will be invited to spin on the dance floor with Neos dancers while the Jimmy Warner Band plays.
