MANSFIELD — Registration is now open for the Renaissance Theatre’s annual Camp Broadway! program for students ages 8 to 13 from June 20 to 24.

Camp Broadway! will include a morning camp as well as a shortened afternoon camp, appropriate for students with sensory sensitivities. Tuition is $105 for the morning camp, and $85 for the afternoon camp; full and partial scholarships are available for both.

The Camp Broadway program allows students to explore the world of musical theatre and the elements of performance through theatre games, improv, and dramatic play as well as staging and singing.

The Ren's Broadway Camp

The five-day experience includes a hands-on session with the Mansfield Art Center, and culminates in a special performance on the Renaissance stage.

Camp Broadway! is coordinated and led by Renaissance teaching artist Dauphne Maloney, well-known for her work with youth theatre in the North Central Ohio area. Maloney is also the founder and director of Mansfield Youth Theatre (MY Theatre), former Resident Director for the Renaissance Youth Opera Theatre (RYOT), and youth theatre director at the Mansfield Branch of the Ohio State University. She has directed and costumed over 200 productions, and served as the Youth Theatre Director for the Mansfield Playhouse for 20 years.

Participating students will work directly with seasoned actors and actresses, as well as Renaissance Artistic Director Michael Thomas, an award-winning playwright and director.

Registration is limited. To register for either of the Camp Broadway weeks, call the Renaissance Box Office at 419-522-2726 or visit the event schedule at www.mansfieldtickets.com.
