MANSFIELD — April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and various local agencies have slated a number of events to call attention to the problem.
The Parent Aide Program has scheduled its Child Abuse Prevention luncheon for Friday, April 8, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ed Pickens Kobacher Room at 28 N. Main St. in downtown Mansfield. Judge Heather Cockley is the keynote speaker.

This is an opportunity to share the mission to teach SAFE parenting strategies, provide supports that help strengthen families, and prevent child abuse and neglect in Richland County.
Parent Aide provides service to families all over Richland County? Friendly Parent Aides travel all over Mansfield, and the surrounding communities to places like Shelby, Bellville, Butler, Lexington, and Shiloh to provide in-home mentoring and hands on modeling to help parents achieve acquisition of new skills, knowledge and confidence to build stronger families.
Parent Aide is right here in the heart of downtown Mansfield with fun events, friendly qualified mentors, and knowledge of local resources to help families meet those challenging moments.
In addition, Wear Blue Day is coming up Wednesday, April 13. Graham Auto Mall is hosting a community rally on Wear Blue Day at 10 a.m.
