MANSFIELD, Ohio — “Discover Tech: Engineers Make a World of Difference,” a national traveling exhibition exploring how technology and engineering contribute to solving national and global problems, will be on display at the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library from April 13 to July 8.
Getting people interested in science can be a challenge, but Discover Tech strives to make it fun with hands-on, multimedia activities on topics such as the creative and collaborative design process of engineering and how 21st-century technology (both high- and low-tech) contributes to engineering advances.
Mansfield/Richland County Public Library will also offer a related series of public events to bring STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) programming to children, teens and adults.
“We are proud that Mansfield/Richland County Public Library was selected to be one of nine sites nationwide to host the Discover Tech exhibition,” said Joseph Palmer, Library Director. “We think people of all ages and backgrounds will find that the exhibition explores engineering and technology in a way that is understandable, inspiring, and relevant.”
Mansfield/Richland County Public Library is located at 43 W. 3rd St. in downtown Mansfield. The exhibition is free and open to the public during library hours, Monday – Thursday, 9 a.m.– 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Sundays, 1 – 5 p.m.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a series of programs and events supporting and expanding on the exhibit themes. For a full schedule of events, visit www.mrcpl.org or contact Jean Ruark, Communications Coordinator, 419-521-3101, jruark@mrcpl.org.
“Discover Tech: Engineers Make a World of Difference” was organized by Space Science Institute’s National Center for Interactive Learning (NCIL) in partnership with the American Library Association’s Public Programs Office, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and the Afterschool Alliance. The project was made possible through support from the National Science Foundation.
