MANSFIELD – Students from the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA! Richland) learned a new approach to an old discipline during a recent meeting.
Students gave their elevator pitches to Nancy Them from Toastmasters, who provided feedback, suggestions and coaching. Students were given 30 seconds to perfect their pitch while riding in a real elevator.
The practice was in preparation for the YEA! Investor Panel Event on Mach 23, where students will pitch their business plans to a panel of local business and community leaders for real funding.
As part of the YEA! program, students are introduced to all facets of the business world including, but not limited to, advertising, insurance agents, graphic designers and web developers.
Over the course of this year’s YEA! program, students will launch six businesses which include AtoZ Lawn Care & Snow Removal and Albatross Athletics, creator of the Clause 18 Training Band for soccer goalies.
