MANSFIELD — Jared Mansfield Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution presented member Jane Parr Harper with a certificate to recognize and thank her for 40 years of membership with the chapter.

Jane joined Jared Mansfield Chapter DAR 40 years ago on 30 Jan 1976 upon the service of her Revolutionary War ancestor Pvt. James Clendenin, Pennsylvania, and has also proved ancestors Pvt. John Gates, Pennsylvania, and Soldier Benjamin Smith, New Jersey.

Jane celebrated her 101st birthday last May 18.

Jane’s sister, Marilyn Parr Dingus is also a member of Jared Mansfield Chapter and her niece Georgiana Van Syckle is a member Ann Simpson Davis Chapter.

The DAR, founded in 1890 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit, non-political volunteer women’s service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism, preserving American history, and securing America’s future through better education for children.
