Gary L. Harper, 46, of Mansfield, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at Ohio Health MedCentral Hospital, following a lengthy battle with cancer.
Gary was born on Oct. 22, 1969, in Ironton, Ohio, to Willard and Wanda (Farmer) Harper. He lived most of his life in Galion and Mansfield.
He is survived by his life-long companion, Eugina Smith; four children, Shiann Moore, Isiah Moore, of Galion, Kayden Harper-Smith and Trey Harper-Smith, both of Mount Vernon; five sisters, Debbie Moore, of Galion, Kim (Tom) Robinson, of Mansfield, Dotty Carter, of Mansfield, Teresa (Jim) Cox, of Kentucky, and Terri Harper and Earl Miller, of Mansfield; three brothers, Ralph (Patty) Castle, of Galion, Brian (Brenda) Castle, of Mansfield, and Jerry Harper and Janet Cole, of Mansfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Kevin Carter and Donald Castle; a sister, Diana Carter; and two nieces, Tasha Carter and Randi Murnahan.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, 2016 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Donald Walters officiating.
