Geraldine M. Cander, 84, of Galion, died Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 at Kobacker House, Columbus, after a brief illness.
Jerri was born in Galion on Feb. 24, 1931 to the late George and Myrtle (DeWalt) Wilcox. She married Stephen T. Cander on Jan. 5, 1952 and he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 1988.
Jerri was a lifelong resident of Galion. An avid bowler, she managed the lounge at Gala Lanes, Galion for 30 years. She loved to cook, garden and enjoyed camping.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Thomas and Jette Cander, Galion, her daughter and son-in-law Nancy and Vince Cattano, Powell, her five grandchildren: Katie Cander, Peyton Feeney, Vincent Cattano, Alison Cattano, Michael Cattano, and her six nieces and two nephews.
The last of her family, she was preceded in death by her five brothers: Clifford Wilcox, James Wilcox, Ralph Wilcox, Almon Wilcox, George W. Wilcox, Jr, and her four sisters Betty Sharrock, Dorothy Levering, Imo Wilcox, and Genevie Huffman.
Funeral services will be held for the family with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will be next to her husband in Fairview Cemetery, Galion.
Memorial contributions may be made to Kobacker House, or a hospice of the donor’s choice.
