Russell Marvin Hinz

Russell Marvin Hinz, 63, of Mansfield, passed away early Monday morning, Dec. 28, 2015, at his home.

He was born Oct. 2, 1952, in Shelby, Ohio, to Clifford and Beth (Sneeringer) Hinz.

He graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1970. Russell was a certified aircraft mechanic working at Lockheed in Marietta, Georgia, on C5 aircraft and also at Continental Air in Norwalk, Ohio. He was also a certified auto mechanic working with his father at Hinz Marathon for a time. He ended his working career as the owner of Hinz Lawn Service.

His passion was buying and working on cars. He could rehabilitate just about anything with an engine. Russell most enjoyed spending time with his grandson and spoiling him.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Russell, of Ashland and her mother, LuAnn LaRue; grandson, Gage Russell, of Ashland; father, Clifford Hinz, of Mansfield; sister, Stacia (Bill) Scott, of Mansfield; and two nieces, Shealyn and Brynli Scott, of Columbus; and close friend, Patricia Bemiller. He was preceded in death by his mother.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, in the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will be Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home with burial following at Mansfield Memorial Park.
