Robert Muth

Robert D. “Bob” Muth, 88, passed away suddenly after a brief illness on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. Bob was a life-long, fifth-generation, Galion resident and was born June 9, 1927. Bob graduated from Galion High School in 1945 and was a World War II veteran. As part of the occupation army, he spent time in Tokyo where he played trombone in the 746 Air Force Pacific Air Command Band. He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1951 with a major in Business Administration. He worked at Galion Manufacturing for 36 years in various accounting positions including Controller and Manager of International and Domestic Finances. He married Nadine Bosler in 1952 and they celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary earlier this year on August 3, 2015.

Bob was a member of the Ghost Town Club of Colorado, National and Canton Chapter Antique Automobile Club of America, and American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 in Galion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen (Ober) and Lester Muth and his sister, Joyce (Muth) Dietrick. He is survived by his wife, Nadine; son, Tom Muth, and his wife Linda; and granddaughters, Gretchen and Caroline Muth.

A private graveside service will take place on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Fairview Cemetery in Galion, Ohio, with Rev. Darrin Harvey officiating, followed by a Celebration of Life Reception for friends and family from 2 to 4 p.m. at the First United Church of Christ located at 248 Harding Way W, Galion, Ohio 44833.
