Marilyn Kay (Beer) Gephart, 77, of Mansfield, passed away Monday morning, Dec. 7, 2015. She was born Jan. 21, 1938, to her parents, Marion and Maple (Hamrick) Beer, in Mansfield, Ohio.
Married on July 5, 1958, Marilyn and Myrl started their ministry serving Home Acres Church of God in Toledo. They then served Savannah, Ohio Presbyterian Church. Marilyn was devoted to her husband’s ministry in the East Ohio United Methodist Church, serving Sandusky, Granger, Newton Falls, Columbiana, Parma, Poland, Warren and Rittman. She and Myrl made hundreds of treasured friends over the years.
Cherishing her memory in the loss of Marilyn, is her beloved husband, Rev. Myrl Gephart of Mansfield; daughter, Diana Lynne Smith and her husband Randall, of Mansfield; granddaughter, Vanessa Bell and her husband, John; and great-grandson, Kaiden Myles Burghard. Treasuring her memory are her brothers, Robert Beer, of Arizona, Bill (Carol) Beer, John (Diana) Beer, all of Mansfield; sister, Connie (Sam) Stover, of Mansfield; brother-in-law, Jerry (Delores) Gephart, of Findlay, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, great aunts and their families in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson, Benjamin Myles Smith.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11, 2015, in First United Methodist Church, 12 N. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio. Rev. Kent Joy and Pastor Benjamin Black will conduct the service.
