LOUDONVILLE, Ohio – Gordon Ramsay is coming to Loudonville.
The celebrity chef and TV host is bringing his hit show “Hotel Hell” to Landoll’s Mohican Castle, an old-world inspired castle/hotel less than five miles from Mohican State Park. The show will be filming at Landoll’s Dec. 4 through 8.
“Hotel Hell” follows Ramsay as he visits various struggling lodging establishments throughout the country in an attempt to reverse their misfortunes. The show was renewed for a third season this summer, and Landoll’s in Loudonville will be Ramsay’s first visit to Ohio.
Members of the public were invited to submit an application to dine and stay at Landoll’s Mohican Castle for the duration of Ramsay’s visit. Only parties between two and six people over the age of 21 were chosen from a lottery system, and guests were responsible for paying for their own meal and stay.
To help Ramsay better understand the Loudonville area and Landoll’s, guests were asked to fill out a survey prior to their stay. Questions on the survey included rating their experience staying at the Castle and eating at the restaurant, and naming other local places frequently visited.
Landoll’s Mohican Castle is one of many stops Ramsay and his team of hospitality experts will visit in the third season of “Hotel Hell.” Ramsay’s signature brash style make it clear to owners and employees of struggling hotels and motels that there is no place for dirty rooms or incompetent staff if one hopes to remain in business.
