SHELBY, Ohio — The end of the year is often a cause for merriment and giving.

Charitable giving decisions are best made following thoughtful reflection. Yet, with tax deadlines and the end of the year rapidly approaching, there is an underlying pressure to make a noble, philanthropic gift now.

The Shelby Foundation would like to remind donors that giving before the end of the year provides many benefits. Tax incentives may enable contributors to do more than they may have realized, even improving their financial position. The availability of the income tax deduction helps a charitable person be even more generous.

According to The Shelby Foundation, the goal is to make it as easy as possible for people to use their money to help the community. The Foundation handles the necessary filings, managing, investing and growing money.

“The Foundation understands this community; knows where there is the greatest need, and where we can have the greatest impact,” said director Carrie Kemerer. “By donating to The Shelby Foundation, not only are you reaping end-of-year tax benefits, but helping the community you care about as well.

“As you know, giving is about much more than tax savings. Your charitable gifts make an important difference in what The Foundation is able to accomplish.”

Those who would like more information about year-end giving should contact Director Carrie Kemerer at 419-342-3686 or carrie@theshelbyfoundation.org.
