MANSFIELD, Ohio – If you visit the Carrousel right now, you might notice there is only one bronze horse. While on the other pedestal, you will notice that it is wrapped in a blue tarp without a bronze horse. What happened to the bronze horse at the Carrousel?
While the Christmas decorations were being put up, an accident occurred damaging the bronze horse, the limestone platform and the pedestal where they are on display. The bronze horse will be repaired, a new Indiana Limestone Platform will be cut and the brickwork at the top of the pedestal will be repaired.
In the meantime, Bob Hunn has wrapped the pedestal to protect it from the weather. Todd Goings, Carousels & Carvings, Marion, Ohio, will take the bronze horse to his location for repair. The Carrousel will be accepting bids from stone cutters for a new limestone platform.
When all of that is completed, a special event will be planned at the Carrousel welcoming the Bronze Horse back to his place of honor in front of the Carrousel.
