Paul Gottfried, 82, of Mansfield, went to meet His Savior on Nov. 20, 2015.

Paul was born a twin on Aug. 6, 1933, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Andrew and Barbara (Brandt) Gottfried. He served in the U.S. Navy, was employed as a tool and die maker at Westinghouse and Cole Tool and Die, and retired as a Machine Trades teacher from Madison Local Schools.

He loved his family and enjoyed attending Mansfield Baptist Temple. He enjoyed fishing with the grandchildren and creating woodwork projects.

He is survived by his wife, DaLee Elaine Wachs, whom he married on June 5, 1953. He is also survived by one brother, John (Gladys) Gottfried, of Mansfield; three children, Gene (Kim) Gottfried, of Olmsted Falls, Garry Gottfried, of Rockwall, Texas, and Jody (Raymond) Kurtz, of Mansfield; six grandchildren, Dawn (Keith) Ward, Erik Gottfried, Jaime (Andy) Pounds, Kurt Gottfried, Danielle Gottfried, and Andrea Gottfried; two great grandchildren, Joni Ward and Andrew Pounds; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Andrew Gottfried, and Robert Gottfried and four sisters, Barbara Gottfried, Elizabeth (Gottfried) Delong, Pauline Gottfried, and Katherine Gottfried.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 23, 2015 and Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2015, 9 to 10 a.m. at Mansfield Baptist Temple, 752 N. Stewart Rd., Mansfield, Ohio. Funeral services will follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor Robert J. Kurtz and Pastor Jason Hurt officiating. Burial will follow at Caesarea Cemetery.
