MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra will perform their annual Holiday Prelude concert on Sunday, Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. on the stage of the Renaissance Theatre. Under the baton of conductor Randy Heidlebaugh, the Youth Orchestra is made up of North Central Ohio’s finest musicians, primarily in high school from a 12-county region. The orchestra will feature soprano soloist Alissa Ruth on the concert. The program includes holiday music and classical repertoire by Sibelius, Rimsky-Korsakov, Elgar, Tchaikovsky, Corelli, Rutter, Lloyd Webber, Hall, and Brubaker.
“This concert has a nice variety of orchestral classics and holiday music,” Heidlebaugh said. “Our guest Soprano soloist, Alissa Ruth, will be a special treat for the audience. The MSYO musicians have been working diligently to prepare a wonderful program and we hope to see a big audience in the Renaissance to hear these talented young people.”
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students for the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra Holiday Prelude concert. Holiday Prelude is part of the Mechanics Bank Education Series with additional support from the Richland County Foundation.
