SHELBY, Ohio — The third annual Ashland Railway Polar X-press and The Shelby Area Business Group’s Moments of Christmas Magic will arrive Sunday, Nov. 22 in Shelby.
Families are invited to meet and greet with Santa and 11 different Christmas characters and several elves who will be working non-stop for children to take free pictures with Santa.
There will be real-life work scenarios for the Pioneer Career and Technology Center students at Central Gymnasium. Participants include Culinary Art students with Decorate your Christmas Cookie to Early Childhood Development students who will be helping out the children with letters to Santa.
Businesses in downtown Shelby will have their doors open with numerous free activities, hot cocoa, kids’ bike raffles, gift-card raffles, and merchandise giveaways from 1 to 6 p.m.
Children will be especially entranced around 5 p.m. when the Ashland Railway’s Polar X-press pulls into the Shelby Train Depot.
With the massive display of a beautifully, hand-painted locomotive train, a boxcar, and a caboose, this event can create lasting impressions while leading into the Christmas season.
