Tammy Lee Hoover

MANSFIELD, Ohio — Tammy Hoover was a Hebrews 13 woman. “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.”

She put others first, and genuinely and practically cared for them. She will be remembered for her loving and caring compassion toward those around her.

Tammy passed away Friday, Oct. 16, 2015 in OhioHealth MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following a long illness. She was 43.

Born Tammy Lee Lewis June 20, 1972 in Shelby, she graduated from Shelby High School in 1990 and studied nursing at North Central State College. She worked as a server for more than 15 years with Bob Evans Farms Restaurant on Hanley Road. She enjoyed soaking up the sun with friends, working in her flower gardens and getting lost in a romance novel.

She is survived by her daughter, Hannah Hoover of Tybee Island, Georgia; her mother Mickey Waldruff of Shelby; her father Doug Lewis, of Georgia; her sister Kristen (Jim) Evans, of Shelby; brothers Alex (Alayna) Waldruff, of Sycamore, and Douglas (April) Lewis of Georgia; her cherished friend Rob Ellsworth; dear neighbor Linda Fowler, aunt Claudia Deisler, of Shelby; along with aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, where her funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Pastor Doyle Peyton will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.
