The project appears to be moving toward construction early this summer, with a tentative groundbreaking date now outlined and a projected completion window in place.
Dalo Construction will serve as the project’s general contractor. Officials tentatively scheduled groundbreaking for June 1.
According to Ontario Zoning Inspector Benji Hall, the construction shows an estimated 23-week timeline. Current projections place completion and the restaurant’s opening during the second or third week of November.
The restaurant will sit at the intersection of North Lexington-Springmill Road and Village Mall Drive on the vacant lot next to Pet Supplies Plus.

Preliminary plans show a 4,375-square-foot restaurant with interior and exterior seating, 45 parking spots and a two-lane drive-thru.
Chick-fil-A submitted its plan review application to the city on Oct. 23, moving the proposed project through the approval process.
Hall said Chick-fil-A already has a history in the area. The company’s food truck has frequented Ontario since 2019.
“The food truck was sort of a trial run to see how Chick-fil-A would do in the area,” Hall previously said.
The proposed location would add another fast-food option near the city’s retail corridor.
When the project was first announced in October, former Ontario Mayor Kris Knapp said the restaurant joins a wave of development in the area — including Raising Cane’s, Starbucks and ongoing improvements at The Ontario Center, plus much more.
