MANSFIELD, Ohio – Richland County residents can participate in the OSU Extension’s first ever Ohio Local Foods Week at the North End Farmers Market, Aug. 11 from 11-2 p.m.

The goal of Ohio Local Foods Week is to increase the knowledge of the social, economic and nutritional benefits to buying local.

Participants are encouraged to take the $10 challenge by committing to spend at least $10 (or more) on their favorite local foods during Ohio Local Foods Week. The challenge allows participants to support local growers at the market where everything is homegrown or homemade.

The Mansfield Richland County Public Library will also be at the market with free crafts for kids.

The North End Farmers Market is sponsored by The North End Community Improvement Collaborative and is located at The Gateway Resource Center, 486 Springmill Street, Mansfield.
