Lori Reneé Blair-Long, age 46, passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015 in Ohio Health MedCentral Mansfield Hospital. She endured the effects of Lymphedema, an incurable degenerative disease, for 6 years. The Lord has been merciful and Lori has been set free. She has joined her family in heaven where she can walk, run, and dance!

She was born November 6, 1968 in Mansfield to parents Elden Russell & Carol (Stemple) Blair. On August 7, 1993, she married Tim Long and they shared almost 22 wonderful years of marriage. In 1998 she gave birth to their son Ryan. Lori loved her family with all her heart.

Lori received her undergraduate degree in Deaf Education from Bowling Green State University and graduate education in Special Education from Ashland University. Her passion was sign language. Lori was a beloved teacher of the hearing handicapped with Mansfield City Schools for over 15 years. She left a legacy of love among her students, their parents, and fellow teachers.

Lori was an active member of Lexington Church of the Cross and served as a Sunday school teacher and superintendent for as long as she could.

She is survived by her loving husband Tim Long of Lexington; son Ryan Long; her adopted daughter Alex Long; her mother Carol Blair of Lexington; sister & brother-in-law Amanda & Mike Bays; nephews Jessie and Aaron Bays; and numerous friends and extended family.

In addition to her father Elden Blair, she was preceded in death by paternal and maternal grandparents and many aunts and uncles.

Lori’s family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2015 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service honoring her life will be held 11 a.m. Friday. Inurnment will follow in the mausoleum at Oak Grove Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory to the Lexington Church of the Cross Youth Group may be made at the funeral home.
