Mansfield YMCA

MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Mansfield YMCA is taking part in the YMCA’s nationwide summer program, “Hop the Gap”, in an effort to help children overcome common obstacles they may face during summer.

Parents can be assured this program provides a safe environment for their children while simultaneously helping them grow intellectually and teaching them proper nutrition, health, and water safety as well.

Once school is out for the summer and children do not have a set schedule, only about half stay active for at least an hour a day. This reinforces the significant value “Hop the Gap” provides to all children across America.

National Health Officer of the YMCA Dr. Matt Longjohn pushes parents to talk to their children about healthy behaviors and make summertime plans now.

“Hop the Gap” can be easily implemented into a family’s weekly routine and will benefit both parents and children.
