MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Mansfield Fire Department will continue the fire hydrant flow testing and flushing program throughout the summer until all hydrants have been tested and flowed. Personnel will begin testing and flushing hydrants in the southern part of Mansfield and work their way north to the airport.
Testing will normally be conducted between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Citizens may experience temporary low flow pressure or water discoloration. During times of testing, hydrants could be left open and continue to flow until testing is complete.
Testing will be in the area of:
Station No. 2 on Brookwood Way, performed in the area between: Home Road and Trimble Road and from Park Avenue West to state Route 30.
Station No. 6 on Springmill Street will begin testing hydranst in the area between: Trimble Road toward Mulberry Street and Sixth Street north to Longview Avenue.
City of Mansfield Water Repair (419-755-9806) and Utility Collections (419 755-9673) will answer any questions or concerns. All fire stations and the water repair department have packets of rust out. All changes to the testing schedule can be found on the city’s website.
