Jim “Boob” Bubash, 86, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly on June 22, 2015. Born November 8, 1928 in Brackenridge, PA, he was the youngest of four siblings born to Frank N. and Barbara Bubash. Jim acquired his love for cooking by his father’s side, which he passed on to his children. He was a standout athlete at Harbrack High School in Natrona Heights, PA and left to serve his country aboard ship with the Medical Army Corps. He served from October 4, 1947 to September 9, 1951. Jim married Patricia “Patty” Dean on December 30, 1950. They moved to Crestline where Jim worked for PPG as a Tooling Coordinator, retiring in 1990 after 38 years of service. Jim frequently returned to Natrona Heights to attend the “corner gang” annual reunion, a social gathering of a group of high school buddies. He was active in bowling and golf leagues and enjoyed family RV trips across the country.

Jim and Pat retired to a golfing community in The Villages in Lady Lake, Florida for several years before returning to the Mansfield area at the age of 75 to participate in the lives of his grandchildren. He especially loved sharing TV westerns with his grandson, Sammy, in their big blue chair. He was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, American Legion in Crestline, and Knights of Columbus of Mansfield.

Jim was a loving, caretaking husband of 64 years to his wife, Pat; a loving, generous, supportive father to his children; daughter, Jayce (Bill) Jones of Singer Island, FL; son, Jim (Kathy) Bubash of Phoenix, AZ; daughter, Judy (Mick) Tridico of Mansfield; grandchildren, Michael Tridico and Sophie Tridico; and several nieces and nephews.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; four year old grandson, Sammy Tridico, who died in 2009; brother, Frank Bubash; and sisters, Barbara Phillips and Ann Stanko.

Jim and his playful personality will be greatly missed by all who knew him, especially his family.

Services will be scheduled for a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sam Tridico Memorial Scholarship Fund. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
