Jeanne Meeting, 94, of Mansfield, passed away early Sunday morning, June 28, 2015, at Hospice House in Ashland. She was born in Hazard, Kentucky, on May 19, 1921, to the late Garrett Partin and Maude (Hensley) Partin.
Being raised in a family of ten children, she learned early on the skills of cooking and cleaning and the satisfaction of working together to get a job done. Jeanne lived the majority of her life in Mansfield and was formerly employed as a cook at Stadium School. She kept busy at home being a wife and mother, spoiling her three sons with her wonderful cooking and unconditional love. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many clothes throughout the years. Jeanne also enjoyed crocheting and made many afghans, some of which her family still enjoys.
She is survived by two sons, David (Karen) Meeting and Gary (Deb) Meeting; five grandchildren, Andy Meeting, Tonya Meeting, Joseph Meeting, David Meeting and Rachel Meeting; numerous great-grandchildren; four siblings, Richard Partin, Judy Partin, Linda Dotson and Fred Partin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David R. Meeting; a son, Robert Meeting; and five brothers and sisters.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, July 2, 2015, at 11 a.m. in Mansfield Cemetery, 389 Altamont Avenue, Mansfield. The Diamond Street Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
