Frances R. Truax

Frances R. Truax, 76, lifelong resident of Bellville, Ohio died peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospital on June 28, 2015 after a brief illness. Fran was born in Mansfield, Ohio January 17, 1939, the daughter of the late Placido and Helen Gonzalez. She will be remembered most for her dedication to her family and loyalty to her friends. She was entirely unselfish and devoted herself to lending a helping hand, the comfort of a home and always a wonderful meal, advice, laughter and inspiration.

She was Vice President of R. J. Gandee Hearing Aid Company serving for over 30 years as a Hearing Aid Specialist. Fran had worked in the hearing industry for over 57 years and received many awards such as trips abroad in recognition of her tremendous knowledge in her field.

She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church, The Sons of Italy, and the Ohio Hearing Healthcare Alliance.

She was an excellent golfer having played at Twin Lakes Golf Course where she once captured the A flight title in the league championship. She was a graduate of Bellville High school having participated in Basketball, Chorus, F.H.A., Girls’ Glee Club , the Bell Hi Annual Staff and the “Chatter” newspaper staff. She coached the Clear Fork Girls Softball Team; and The Clear Fork Flag squad. She was a former member of the Clear Fork Athletic Boosters Club. She was an avid sports fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Cavaliers, Browns and Indians. She was a former member of Twin Lakes Golf Course.

She was the proud mother of Charles P. (Christi) Truax, Michael A. Truax, and Elizabeth E. (Ryan Lambert) Salas; grandmother of Mathew (Sasha) Truax, Tyler (Trinity) Clow, Kelsie Clow, Kayge, Kaitlyn, Korianne, and Michael Truax, Taylor, Gabriella and Macie Salas and TIffany Lambert; great-grandmother to Gavin, Lilly and Addy Truax , Cruz Burris and Carter Clow; and sister to Carl (Judy) Gonzalez and Mari Ann (Dan) Hoover, both of Bellville. She had 13 nieces and nephews, 12 great nieces and nephews, one great great nephew, and many special cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald J. Gonzalez; and sister, Rosalie M. Murch.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Thursday, July 2, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Road, Ontario. A mass of christian burial will be held Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 104 West 1st Street, Mansfield, conducted by Father Jeremy Miller.
