MANSFIELD, Ohio – The City of Mansfield and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) have released a list of road construction to begin June 29.
Mansfield
Mayor Tim Theaker announced that weather permitting, Kokosing Construction Company, the contractor for the 2015 Street Resurfacing Program will be performing casting work, milling and/or paving on the following streets:
Theaker also announced that state Route 545 (Wayne Street), between Orange Street and Fifth Street, will be closed for bridge repairs starting July 6, and will remain closed for 30 days.
The posted detour will be Fifth Street to Newman Street; and Orange Street to Wayne Street.
Motorists are encouraged to U.S.e caution near all resurfacing and repair projects.
Ashland County
U.S. Route 42
U.S. 42, at its bridge over state Route 96/U.S. Route 250 (East Main Street) in the City of Ashland, is closed as part of an intersection improvement project. The detour route for truck traffic is U.S. 42 to U.S. Route 30, east on U.S. 30 to Interstate 71, north on I-71 to U.S. Route 250, west on U.S. 250 to U.S. 42, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project will be complete in November.
State Route 89
State Route 89, between County Road 2000 and state Route 95, is closed for the replacement of six culverts. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 89 to state Route 95, west on state Route 95 to state Route 179, north on state Route 179 to state Route 60, north on state Route 60 to U.S. Route 30, east on U.S. 30 to state Route 89, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen July 17.
State Route 89 – ***UPDATE***
State Route 89, at its bridge over Interstate 71 in Perry Township, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for southbound motorists is state Route 89 to U.S. Route 42, south on U.S. 42 to U.S. Route 250, east on U.S. 250 to state Route 89, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on July 1.
State Route 511
State Route 511, between the Lorain County line and the City of Ashland, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project will be complete in September.
Crawford County
State Route 98
State Route 98, between Dickson Road and state Route 61 in Richland County, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by September 30.
Richland County
State Route 95
State Route 95, between the village of Butler and the Ashland County line, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete in July.
County Road 31 Closure – ***NEW***
CR 31 (Bellville-Johnson Road), between Ritter Road and Mann Road, will close Monday, June 29 for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for westbound motorists is CR 31 to state Route 97, northwest on state Route 97 to Mock Road, west on Mock Road to state Route 546, south on state Route 546 to CR 31, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen September 12.
State Route 13
State Route 13, between the Knox County line and Bangorville East Road in Jefferson Township, will be closed beginning on Monday, July 13, for a culvert replacement.
The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 13 to State Route 546, north on SR 546 to US 42, north on US 42 to State Route 97, east on SR 97 to State Route 13, and reverse for southbound motorists. SR 13 is estimated to reopen Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
