Roxie “Faye” Caugherty, 91, of Mansfield, died June 21, 2015. Born November 16, 1923 in Olive Hill, KY, she was the daughter of George and Mable (Perry) Payton. Faye graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and shortly after, met and married her husband, Charles E. Caugherty, Jr. They started their family and Faye stayed home to be with the children and later in life, became “Nana” to her grandchildren, whom she babysat regularly. In her free time, she loved to read.
Surviving are her children, Judy (Gary) Hootman of Jeromesville and Nancy (Joe) Robertson of Mansfield; grandchildren, Ann (fiancee, Chris Scott) Robertson, Alicia (Jeff) Birl; and Dr. Andrew Robertson; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Jazmin, Jacklyn, Emily, Brock, and Lele; siblings, Emogene Briggs, Nelda Koenig, and Denzil Payton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Caugherty, Jr. and sister, Hazel McCarty.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 248 Park Ave W, Mansfield, OH 44902. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family of Roxie “Faye” Caugherty.
