The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has released a construction report for the week of June 22.
Ashland County
U.S. Route 42
U.S. 42, at its bridge over state Route 96/U.S. Route 250 (East Main Street) in the City of Ashland, is closed as part of an intersection improvement project. The detour route for truck traffic is U.S. 42 to U.S. Route 30, east on U.S. 30 to Interstate 71, north on I-71 to U.S. Route 250, west on U.S. 250 to U.S. 42, and reverse for southbound motorists. The project will be complete in November.
State Route 89
State Route 89, between County Road 2000 and state Route 95, is closed for the replacement of six culverts. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 89 to state Route 95, west on state Route 95 to state Route 179, north on state Route 179 to state Route 60, north on state Route 60 to U.S. Route 30, east on U.S. 30 to state Route 89, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen July 17.
State Route 89
State Route 89, at its bridge over Interstate 71 in Perry Township, is closed for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for southbound motorists is state Route 89 to U.S. Route 42, south on U.S. 42 to U.S. Route 250, east on U.S. 250 to state Route 89, and reverse for northbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on June 30.
State Route 511
State Route 511, between the Lorain County line and the City of Ashland, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project will be complete in September.
State Route 511
State Route 511, one-quarter-mile north of Township Road 1104 in Orange Township, is closed for bridge repairs prior to an upcoming resurfacing project. The detour route for northbound motorists is state Route 511 to U.S. Route 250, east on U.S. 250 to state Route 58, north on state Route 58 to state Route 302, west on state Route 302 to state Route 511, and reverse for southbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen June 29.
Crawford County
State Route 98
State Route 98, between Dickson Road and state Route 61 in Richland County, will be reduced to one lane of traffic beginning Wednesday, June 24 as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained at all times with flaggers. The project is expected to be complete by September 30.
Richland County
State Route 95
State Route 95, between the village of Butler and the Ashland County line, is reduced to one lane of traffic as part of a resurfacing project. One lane of two-way traffic will be maintained with flaggers at all times. The project is expected to be complete in July.
The city of Shelby announced West Main Street in Shelby will be closed beginning June 22 until late Friday June 26. This temporary closure is to replace a storm culvert located near 315 West Main Street. Travelers are asked to follow the posted detour.
County Road 31
County Road 31 (Bellville-Johnson Road), between Ritter Road and Mann Road, will close Monday, June 29 for a bridge replacement project.
The detour route for westbound motorists is CR 31 to State Route 97, northwest on SR 97 to Mock Road, west on Mock Road to State Route 546, south on SR 546 to CR 31, and reverse for eastbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen September 12, 2015.
This bridge will be replaced as part of ODOT’s expanded Local Bridge Partnership Program. Beginning in late 2013, the program provides $120 million to local governments to make bridges safer for the motoring public. The investment will repair or replace more than 230 county and city-owned bridges over a three year period ending in 2016.
