Doris A. Chevrier, 90, of Galion died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Zusman House Hospice in Columbus.
Born February 20, 1925 in Ft. Wayne, Ind., she was the daughter of John A. and Garnet (Beard) Ontario.
Doris was a 1943 graduate of Southside High School in Ft. Wayne, Ind. and worked as a social worker for the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services from 1976 until 1991 when she retired. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and being with her family. She loved playing Euchre.
Surviving are her grand daughters, Geane Poland of Albuquerque, N.M. and Rebecca (David) Copley of Hilliard; great-grandchildren, Bradie Kinney of Bucyrus, Tracey Kinney of Galion and Veronica Copley of Hilliard and great-great grandchildren, Ryan and Andrew.
In addition to her parents she is preceded by a daughter, Rosalee Poland and son-in-law, Herbert Poland.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 23 with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Interment will follow at Crawford County Memory Gardens in Crestline.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zusman Hospice in care of the funeral home.
