MANSFIELD, Ohio – Governor Kasich signed a recently passed bill that changes the date for the 2016 presidential primary to March 15, 2016. The bill actually becomes effective on September 9 of this year.
For those who might be considering a run for a local public office, attention to changes in the election calendar is very important. Here are links to the Secretary of State’s website where the entire 2015 and 2016 elections calendars can be viewed:

There are also a number of local non-partisan offices that will be up for election this November. Village officials in Bellville, Butler, Lexington, Lucas, Plymouth, and Shiloh, members of local Board of Education, Township Trustees and Township Fiscal Officers, and members of the Mansfield Charter Commission will be elected this November; these positions have a filing deadline of August 5.
