Anargiros “Narg” Christ Aivaliotis, 75, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday morning on June 17, 2015 at 2:35am, surrounded by his family.
He was the only son of the late Christ & Katina Aivaliotis, owners of the former Main Street Restaurant in Downtown Mansfield, Ohio.
He was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio where he graduated from “Big Red” in 1958, and went to attend Ohio University before moving to Mansfield where he attended North Central Technical College and graduated with a double major in accounting and computer technology. A loving, knowledgeable, strong man, Narg never had anything bad to say about anyone. He loved being with his family and was very proud of his Greek heritage.
He spent 33 years working for the United States Postal Service, starting in 1978 before finally retiring 4 years ago. Narg was a member of the Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church for many years.
He was happily married to Dimitra Aivaliotis of Athens, Greece for 37 years. Together they had 6 beautiful girls. Katina Aivaliotis of Worcester, Massachusetts, Maria Aivaliotis of Mansfield, Ohio, Christina Aivaliotis of Doha,Qatar, Sophia Aivaliotis of Mansfield, Ohio and Despina Aivaliotis of Columbus, Ohio. He was also the proud grandfather to 2 precious angels, Dimitra and Zoe Axiopoulos and one more Axiopoulos surprise on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Andriani Aivaliotis.
He was an honest, hard working and honorable man who loved his family more than anything and always treated people the way he’d want to be treated. He was very proud of his Ikarian heritage and loved watching all his girls dance the Ikariotiko together. He was a proud and intelligent man who will be greatly missed!
