Richard L. ”Dick” Moore, 78, of Mt. Gilead, died Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, after a lengthy illness.
Dick was born in KY on September 28, 1936 to the late Fielder and Burlie (Manns) Moore. In 1957 he married Lizzie J. Davis and she preceded him in death on October 7, 1978.
Dick served in the U.S. Army and retired from General Motors in 2005. A sports fan, he cheered on the University of Kentucky, the Cleveland Indians, and the Cleveland Browns. In his younger years he enjoyed attending his son’s sporting events. He was a wonderful father who enjoyed life, especially the time spent with his family.
He is survived by his son, Greg and Lucinda Moore of Crestline; his two grandchildren, Michelle and Mike Mosier, and Michael Moore and his fiancé, Shanna Sutter, all of Crestline; his great-grandson, Austin Mosier; his seven brothers and sister, Anna Allen of Plymouth, IN, Maggie Schrader of Huron, Betty (Afton) Bates of Antwerp, Bill (Pat) Moore of Louisville, KY, Marvin (Lucy) Moore of Morehead, KY, Charles Moore of Columbus, and Patty (Bob) Lykins of Willard; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his two stillborn children, Debbie and Gavin Moore; and his two brothers, Claude and Larry Moore.
Friends may call Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 1 – 3 p.m. at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, 223 W. Main St., Crestline.
