BELLVILLE, Ohio – Bellville Mayor Darrell E. Banks reminded the public that this year’s Liberty Day Festival will be held Saturday, July 4. A special “American Flag Folding Ceremony” will be part of the program following the parade at the Bellville Bandstand, by the American Legion Post 535 Women’s Auxiliary.

The Festival will begin with a parade, stepping off at the American Legion at 11 a.m., marching south on Main Street to Stoodt’s Super Value, turning west and then north on Bell Street, east on Church St. to Bellville’s Bandstand.

Trophies will be presented for the best parade participates in five different categories: Best Color Guard, Best Marching Group, Best Antique Vehicle, Best Club or Organization, Grand Marshall Award and Mayor’s Choice.

Those wishing to participate and are not already signed up should contact James Smith of the Sons of the American Legion, the sponsoring organization.

The Bellville Lions Club will have their food trailer set up in the park for all to enjoy immediately following the Liberty Program at the bandstand.
