Friday evening, Mark Sebastian Jordan, author of the historical drama “Ceely,” will tell the story of Celia Rose, the young woman who poisoned her entire family in 1896. One of Mansfield’s most infamous legends, the murders were true events later written about by Malabar Farm’s Louis Bromfield and “Haunted Ohio” author Chris Woodyard.
Jordan went back to the original historical sources to gather information about the case, discovering along the way that not only were the murders cruel tragedies, but the confused and socially inept young woman had managed to ruin her own life by committing acts that she didn’t even fully understand.
Jordan’s presentation will culminate with the showing of an actual artifact related to the case.
The storytelling will begin at 7:30 p.m. at Element of Art Studio/Gallery, 96 North Main Street. Admission is free.
