MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Renaissance is seeking an arts administrator to serve in the role of part-time Symphony Operations Manager for the Mansfield Symphony. Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Symphony Operations Manager shall manage and have general administration and direction over the operations of the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, Mansfield Symphony Chorus, Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra and Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings subject to the overall authority of the Board.
Duties include but are not limited to coordinating with music directors of the Mansfield Symphony, Youth Orchestra, and Youth Strings to plan and coordinate all symphonic programming; scheduling musicians; overseeing production of all symphonic concerts; serving as staff liaison between the symphony musicians and the staff and board of the Renaissance; ensuring adherence to the union agreement; assisting in yearly budget process; managing guest artist contracts; oversee and coordinate all communications with orchestra members; attend orchestra services.
The ideal candidate possesses a bachelor’s degree in music, vocal or instrumental performance, music education, arts administration or similar course of study preferred, holds project coordination experience in a performing arts environment, has a familiarity with labor agreement compliance and negotiation, a knowledge of classical music and the ability to read music. The Renaissance is seeking an individual with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated independent, mature judgment, professional image and attitude. Additionally the proper candidate must have strong administrative, organizational and detail-oriented skills. The job requires proficiency with computer software including the Microsoft Office Suite, primarily Excel.
