MANSFIELD: Irene Mae Brubaker, 92, of Mansfield passed away Thursday, May 14, 2015 in Winchester Terrace Nursing Home following a short illness.
The daughter of Floyd and Beulah (Hall) Bechtel, Irene was born July 5, 1922 and was graduated from Fredericktown High School in 1941.
Irene worked for the former White Westinghouse Company and also for Therm-O-Disc.
A lifelong area resident, she was a member of Mansfield Faith Assembly. Irene absolutely loved to hear her great-great granddaughter, Shianna pray out load.
She enjoyed traveling. Friendly and personable, Irene often greeted family, friends or acquaintances with a, “Hi Honey!” followed by a wink. She loved to be surrounded by the laughter and the inviting noise of family parties.
She is survived by her sons Gary (Donna) McNeely, Ron McNeely, and Roger McNeely all of Mansfield; step children Larry Brubaker of Fredericktown and Connie (Richard) Millard of Lexington; grandchildren Michelle, Mindy, Carla, Amanda, Roger and Joanie; three step grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; sister Doris (Rudy) Knapp of Mansfield and brother Dick (Jean) Bechtel of Vermillion; sister-in-law Betty Smollen of Mansfield; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband William McNeely in 1995, second husband Lester Brubaker in 2000; brother Wilbur Bechtel.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 1-3 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where funeral services will begin at 3 p.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park. Pastor Don Wilson will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to MedCentral Hospice may be made through the funeral home.
