MANSFIELD, Ohio — Altrusa International, Inc. of Mansfield, Ohio awarded $6,000 in scholarships to Madison Adult Career Center and Mansfield City Schools Adult Education. The Altrusa International Foundation, Inc. awarded the local club a $2,000 grant to help fund the scholarship total.
Presentation of the scholarships was May 6 at the local Altrusa International, Inc. Mansfield, Ohio’s monthly luncheon. More than 38 Women in Transition benefit from the scholarships. Students are entering/re-entering the workforce, changing careers, learning a non-traditional skill/trade or is a displaced worker.
Altrusa International, Inc. of Mansfield, Ohio promotes literacy among children and adults. “Tools for Schools” is a project that donates basic school supplies to local students every year and is funded from the group’s fundraising events.
