Richard Alan Vance, 60, of Ashland, passed away unexpectedly, on May 10, 2015.
Richard was born July 9, 1954 in Mansfield, to Arland Vance and Lena “Bea” (Carlton) Vance Staschak. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He was a member of the Sons of Amvets Post 26 and had a passion for all kinds of cars, especially the classics. He also enjoyed playing poker.
Richard is survived by his mother and step-father, Bea and Joe Staschak of Largo, FL; three children, Jessica Ebeling of Mansfield, Tristan Vance and Taylor Vance, both of Athens, TN; two grandchildren, Chloe Ebeling and Jaxon Ebeling; three siblings, Judy Rainey of Allentown, PA, Lynn King of Lima, OH, and Randy (Bridgette) Vance of Indianapolis, IN; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, Arland Vance; and one daughter, Jennifer Vance Slind.
Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Phil Green officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at Mansfield Memorial Park.
