Thomas A. Foreman Sr., 76, of Galion, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Signature Health Care of Galion, due to complications with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Tom was born in Crestline on September 30, 1938 to the late Thomas W. and Opal M. (Tullis) Foreman. He married Charlene K. Russell on July, 10, 1967 and she survives him.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Valley Forge. Tom retired from General Motors on March 1, 1993, as an inventory specialist after 33 ½ years of service. He was a fan of the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and The Ohio State Buckeyes. Tom wouldn’t miss a game! He enjoyed fishing, but family time was most important. He loved his wife more than life. She was his best friend. In 1967 Tom and Charlene did not have a formal wedding ceremony. Last year, Tom and Charlene renewed their vows at Signature HealthCare and their son, Tom, Jr. gave the bride away.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his four children, Thomas A. and Julie Foreman, Jr. of Crestline, Katherine and Mark Jennings of Galion, Robert and Heidi Foreman of Galion, and Dr. Gregory Foreman and his family of Knoxville, TN; his six grandchildren, Jessica Garrison, John Garrison, Zachary Jennings, Courtney Jennings, Tristan Gosser, and Noah Foreman; his sister, Elaine Foreman of Ashland; his mother-in-law, Esther M. (Hoffman) Russell of Galion.
Friends may call Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 14 at the Mark A. Schneider Funeral Home, Crestline, with Dr. Rick McCartney officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Crestline. Full military honors will be given at the graveside by the U.S. Navy and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
