MANSFIELD, Ohio – Simon Majumdar, author and food critic on Food Network shows “Cutthroat Kitchen” and “Iron Chef America,” will be making a Mansfield stop on June 1, to promote the release of his new book, “Fed, White, and Blue” which chronicles his journey to American citizenship through experiencing its food culture.
Ed Pickens’ Cafe on Main is hosting the two-part event with a food demo and tasting in the Reed Room from 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. and a reading and book signing in the Kobacker Room from 7 p.m. until finished.
Simon will demonstrate the preparation of Onion Bhaji with Cilantro Dip as well as Chicken Tikka Masala. Tickets for the demo and tasting are $25 and cover the cost of food samples plus beverage of choice.
Craft beer from The Phoenix Brewing Company and local wine from 1285 Winery will be available.

The book reading and signing portion of the evening is free and open to the public. For those unable to attend the food demo and tasting, Altered Eats will have their food truck parked outside and open for business.
Books can be purchased now at Main Street Books and will be available for sale on site during the event. Main Street Books is offering a 15 percent discount for books purchased prior to the event.
