Audrey Marilyn Bayles, 85, of Galion, died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Marion General Hospital, Marion after a brief illness.

Marilyn was a true Galion native. As a life-long resident, she was a virtual repository for stories, cataloging the myriad changes the town has undergone in her lifetime. Above all, Marilyn loved her family. She was particularly devoted to her son John, they could be found most days lunching together at Granny’s Kitchen. In later years, Marilyn enjoyed visiting her great-granddaughters in Cincinnati and twice escaped the frigid winter to soak up the California sunshine and explore the Pacific coast with her grandson.

Marilyn was retired from the former ITT North after working for 30 years. She was a life-long member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Galion. Marilyn was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 177, Galion.

She is survived by her two sons, Charles (Roseann) Bayles of Cincinnati and Teddy (Mary) Bayles of Galion, her four grandchildren: Christopher (Katie) Bayles, Cincinnati, Kimberly Foltz, Cincinnati, Aaron (Rebecca) Bayles, Nipomo, CA and Bryant (Lindsay) Bayles, Plymouth, MI, her four great-grandchildren: Emily Bayles, Ashley Bayles, Brooklyn Bayles and Lexi Foltz, her daughter-in-law Sandra Bayles, and her four sisters-in-law: Helen (Ernest) Phillips, Betty McHenry, Elizabeth McHenry and Ellie McHenry.

She was preceded in death by her two sons David Bayles and John Bayles, her four brothers Robert M. McHenry, Milton W. McHenry, Dale McHenry and Richard “Vere” McHenry and her two sisters Aileen Wilcox and Elaine Tucker.
