MANSFIELD, Ohio – On April 30 the Mansfield Police Department received a call of an assault and a man with a gun at 730 King St., Apt. 5. The caller reported the man with the gun had gone into his apartment.
When officers arrived, the suspect, Tyrone Davis, a black male, age 41, was observed outside the apartment complex and was taken into custody without incident.
Subsequent investigation led officers to believe that the weapon was inside his apartment along with illegal drugs.
Mansfield Police Officers secured apartment No. 5 and prepared a search warrant, which was signed by the honorable Judge Ault.
Officers searched the apartment and located 2.6 grams of cocaine, a small quantity of marijuana, two pistol magazines and ammunition. No weapon was found.
Tyrone Davis was charged with possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, assault, and an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. Davis was incarcerated at the Richland County Jail.
