MANSFIELD, Ohio – The Miss Ohio Scholarship Program, under the direction of Executive Director, Steven Oliveri, has expanded to include a new opportunity for Richland County high school seniors. The new Miss Ohio Community Youth Scholarship program will award four Richland County high school seniors a $500 scholarship. Scholarship recipients will each be recognized on the Miss Ohio stage Thursday evening, June 18.
To be eligible, Richland County high school seniors must volunteer and dedicate time to community service aside from school functions and curriculum. An essay, which is part of the application process, must be written to describe the student’s dedication to community service, hours served, money or items raised, and the community impact.
“I personally know a handful of youth who are dedicated to bettering their community,” commented Kelby King, spokesperson for the Miss Ohio Community Youth Scholarship program. “The Miss Ohio program awards young women every year for their outstanding work as volunteers. I commend the Miss Ohio program for rewarding students who are also out in the community making a difference.”
To apply, Richland County high school seniors, male or female, must fill out an application, complete the required essay, and have a signed affidavit complete. The entire package must be returned by Friday, May 22. To receive the scholarship materials, send an email to missohioyouthscholarship.com.
