MANSFIELD, Ohio – The North End Community Improvement Collaborative (NECIC) will host an Introduction to Vegetable Gardening class on Monday, April 20 from 6-8 p.m. at NECIC, 199 N. Main St., Mansfield.

This class is intended for new gardeners getting started as well as those who have tried vegetable gardening and would like to be more successful.

Jean Taddie, Richland County Master Gardener and NECIC Community Garden/Local Foods Program Coordinator, will present information on preparing the garden site, planting cool-season and warm-season vegetables, watering and maintaining gardens, controlling weeds, and more.

Following the presentation, the group will get some hands-on experience and plant a two rows in the NECIC garden if the weather permits.
