Wilma L. Ross, age 84, former resident of Shelby joined our heavenly Father on Friday, March 20, 2015, at the Hospice of Western Reserve in Cleveland.
Born April 1, 1930 in Shelby to William E. and Helen (Westervelt) Hosey she had been a Crestline resident moving to Shelby in the late 1950’s. On May 31, 1952 she married Harold L. Ross who preceded her in death on June 16, 2012. After his passing, she moved to Grand River to be closer to her daughter.
Mrs. Ross was a former employee of Ballonoff Industries retiring in 1984. She enjoyed making crafts and designing floats for parades. Most importantly, she cherished the time spent with her family.
Survivors include her son, Robert A. (Maryann) Ross of Delaware, her daughter, Barbara A. Bowers of Grand River, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; her siblings, Lois (Dan) Mynhier of Mesa, AZ, Lawrence Hosey of Bucyrus, Marlene (Steve) Yosick of El Nido, CA, Shirley Hosey of Tampa, FL, and Maurice “Sam” (Kate) Hosey of Waynesburg, PA; nieces, nephews and her faithful companion, “Teddy”.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael Ross, daughter, Valerie Lynn Ross, grandson, Derrick Ross; two sisters, Twila Jean Donnersbach and Marie Rettig, brother, Kenneth Hosey, her step-father, Ted Hayes, one step-brother, Bobby Ray Hayes, and step-sister, Dr. Claudette Hayes.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, March 23, 2015, from the Barkdull Funeral Home in Shelby. Reverend S.T. Adkins will officiate with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial expressions may be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
