MANSFIELD, Ohio–An oven that caught fire in the residence located at 705 Burns St. was extinguished upon the Mansfield Fire Department’s arrival. Engines were dispatched at 3:52 p.m.
Assistant Chief Chris Speelman said the resident had been cooking dinner and when she sat down to eat, she noticed that the oven was on fire.
Speelman said they needed to use just one water extinguisher to douse the flames.
Additional engines were en route to provide assistance, but they were called to return to the station.
Nobody was injured at the scene.
There was minor damage as a result of the incident.
