Cathy D. Lester, of rural Galion, died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 27, 1957 in Crestline and was the daughter of the late Donald and Mary (Garverick) Hoffman of Galion.
She was an amazing woman her generous heart filled our lives with love, fun, and encouragement. Family and friends were the most important things to her especially her grandchildren. She was a lover of many things. She loved all Gods creations from wildlife to sunsets. She enjoyed going to garage sales, photography, gardening, and collecting antiques.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband Michael whom she was with for more than 40 years. They married on July 16, 1976. In addition to her husband and mother, Cathy is survived by her children, Niki (Jimmy) McCoy and Michele (Travis) Tolar all of Galion; four grandchildren, Evan and Emma McCoy and Gavin and Gabriel Tolar; brothers Ronnie (Barb) Hoffman and Donnie Hoffman all of Galion; step-sister Buffy (Shannon) Pry of Florida; mother-in-law Margie Lester of Galion, several nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Snyder Funeral Home Richardson Davis Chapel, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015, with Rev. Paul Walter officiating. Burial will be in Iberia Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in care of the funeral home.
